http://www.myspace.com/therealegyptianloverA lot of clicks and triggers to add to that robotic background. Bass, Snare, Clap, Hi Hats, Cow Bells, Rim Shots, Toms, special effects and a secret touch on the 808 and you got it.
egyptian lover used the trigger out and just plugged it into the mixing board to use as a bit of percussion. if you listen to "egypt egypt" you will hear it. it's the little tick electronic sound. i do it all the time with my real 808 when i'm feeling nostalgic.
i don't think kraftwerk used an 808 on numbers but it's quite obvious but processed in an amazing way on music non stop

There is a video on the Red Bull Academy webpage where the Arabian Prince explains how they 'invented' the click-sound with an 808 drummachine. This is what he says:
"Well, Iâ??ma tell you guys a secret for those who donâ??t know. You probably already know, or you donâ??t use it anymore â??cause you can get it as a sample. But the click sound, that most people use, that Kraftwerk click, is from the 808 or some old analogue synth. But with the 808 we figured that if you take the pulse out, that you use for synch, to synch up other devices, and ran that into a mixer, you get this kind of clicking sound! And if you accent it, you get this kind of rhythmic electro-click thing. And we used it for all of the clicks in all of our songs. No one could figure it out! People were taking like hi-hats and try to EQ them, but unless you use that 808 click it never sounds the same."
So there MUST be a click in the NP

Hate to spill the beans, but Nepheton has the trigger. It's an Easter egg but not too hard to find. You dont have to chose between CB and trigger as original, but it does follow the cowbell pattern on an extra channel once released. Not going to spoil how to turn it on. LG is probably a more musically useful replacement
